Doleful Lions to release “Monster Manual Song Cyclops” via WK this year.
This summer, we will be unveiling the first official Doleful Lions compilation ‘Monster Manual Song Cyclops’. This record will be a ‘best of’ compendium of material from the two acclaimed ‘Song Cyclops’ records.
“Doleful Lions might continue to get back to their adventurous, dreamy and lush brand of rock. But for this album, they’ve returned to a timeless, surefire format that ages as well as a bottle of wine. And it’s an extremely expensive bottle, of course. ” - PopMatters on Song Cyclops Vol. 2
Album art (yet to be unveiled) for this record will be a highly-anticipated artist collaboration between Pittsburgh comic paragons Little Tired and Nate McDonough.

REVIEW OF JP HAYNIE’S 2008 RELEASE “TURN OUT THE LIGHTS”
“There are those albums that I hear that totally demoralize me, that remind me of my complete lack of creative talent. Turn Out The Lights is one of those albums. Simple chords, simple melodies, simple words that express thoughts and feelings so much better than I’m ever able to. The album is easy listening from start to finish. JP finds a way to make his melodies catchy and so pretty, something that’s not often accomplished these days. His high but smooth voice doesn’t match his bulky, beardy appearance but matches his soft picking kind, lyrics perfectly. Turn Out The Lights isn’t riding the coat tails of any trend or music fad. The album is sustainable; I’ve had the album for a few months and it still brings a smile to my face and a warm vibe every time I put it in, and I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t do the same in 5, 10, or 15 years. If you’re someone who has a taste for the mellow/simple side of the musical spectrum, you’ll enjoy this one. And just a heads up, don’t be surprised by the complete lo-finess of it all. The packaging, purchasing, and recording may not be some polished studio release or record label promotion, but that’s the point; JP is just a talented guy who’s made good music for us to enjoy.”
